Coventry City announced the signing of Peterborough United winger Ephron Mason-Clark very late on deadline day, much to the delight of the Sky Blues’ supporters
The 24-year-old’s move to the Coventry Building Society set the club back a fee of £4.25 million, and he’ll spend the rest of the season on loan at the Posh before joining the Sky Blues ahead of the 2024-25 season – a move which saw the fee brought down by £750,000 due to Doug King’s co-operation on letting the winger head back to London Road.
While it’s not ideal that Mason-Clark is unable to play for Coventry until next season, an immediate return to Posh was the only way to get the move over the line, with Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony refusing to sanction the transfer without an immediate return clause as he could not land a replacement in time.
Ephron Mason-Clark’s 2023/24 season at Peterborough United
The 24-year-old has been in fine form for the
League One club this season, making 38 appearances scoring 15 times and registering eight assists.
This makes him the club’s top goalscorer in all comeptitions and, given his form this season, it was inevitable that he’d attract interest from Championship clubs.
