Everton rival Crystal Palace in Iliman Ndiaye pursuit
Everton are reportedly keen on signing 23-year-old Marseille striker Iliman Ndiaye, a target for Crystal Palace.
A report by La Provence via Sport Witness has claimed that Everton will compete with London club, Crystal Palace to sign 23-year-old striker Iliman Ndiaye from Ligue 1 club Marseille.
Iliman Ndiaye joined Marseille in a €17 million in the summer transfer window, and he has had a mediocre campaign with them so far. He has picked up just one goal and three assists in 17 league matches this season.
However, he is a talented player with a bright future ahead of him and could develop into a quality striker with the right guidance. Everton certainly need more quality and depth in the final third, and the 23-year-old could prove to be a useful acquisition for them.
The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be an attractive option for the striker as well, and the Senegalese will be keen on the move if the opportunity presents itself. The striker joined Marseille from Sheffield United and knows the English game well. He should be able to settle quickly and make an immediate impact at Everton if he joins the club.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace need more quality in the attack as well and have their eyes set on Iliman Ndiaye. They need to bring in a reliable goalscorer, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to invest in Ndiaye.
The €17 million striker certainly has the potential to develop into a useful Premier League striker. But he has not been able to find the back of the net consistently this season. The fans might look at the signing as an underwhelming one. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
Ndiaye could cost a premium
The Ligue 1 outfit will not want to lose the 23-year-old anytime soon. They signed him at the start of the season, and he has a contract with them until the summer of 2028. It will not be surprising if Marseille demand a premium for his services at the end of the season.
It remains to be seen whether Everton and Crystal Palace are prepared to break the bank in order to secure his signature during the summer transfer window.
