Middlesbrough, Coventry City, Hull City eye 25-year-old midfielder amid contract stand-off

Middlesbrough, Coventry City and Hull City are all showing an interest in Levski Sofia midfielder Andrian Kraev, according to Sportal.bg.

Middlesbrough, Coventry City and Hull City will all hold ambitions of earning a spot in the Championship play-offs this season. The Sky Blues and the Tigers are certainly in a better position as it stands, though Boro will be looking to find form and push for the top six over the coming weeks and months.

Liam Rosenior’s side sit 6th in the Championship table as it stands, though Coventry are three points behind them in 7th. Michael Carrick and co have slipped 10 points adrift in 14th, but there’s still time to put a run together.

Now, it has been claimed all three sides are showing interest in wantaway midfielder Andrian Kraev.

The 25-year-old currently plays in his native Bulgaria with Levski Sofia, but he’s been removed from training as he continues to reject new contract offers. This is according to Bulgarian news outlet Sportal.bg, as cited by Coventry Live.

A sensible target?

Middlesbrough, Coventry City and Hull City have all cast their eyes to the European market before. As an out of contract player with international experience, it certainly seems feasible that midfielder Kraev would emerge on their radars.

The eight-time Bulgaria international had captained Levski Sofia regularly before being dropped for their most recent league match. If he is to force a move away this summer, he can be signed for nothing given his expiring contract and age.

Kraev is a tall, physical presence in the middle of the park and can play as a centre-back if needs be too. As he pushes for an exit though, it wouldn’t be a surprise if further interest was to arise in his services as his contract moves closer to expiry.
