Lincoln City Field Enquiries For Key Star
Lincoln City have received a number of enquiries for key star Ethan Erhahon as interest in the midfielder hots up, according to Sky Sports.
The 23-year-old has become a mainstay in the centre of the park for the Imps since his arrival from St Mirren in 2023. It was stated by the club upon his arrival that he had penned a long-term deal.
The East Midlands-based outfit enjoyed an excellent second half of the campaign last season. Under the guidance of Michael Skubala, they embarked on an incredible 16-game unbeaten run which lifted them from mid-table obscurity to the brink of the play-offs. They eventually missed out on a place in the top six following a final day defeat against champions Portsmouth.
Erhahon featured in all-but-three of Lincoln’s League One fixtures last season. His form regularly earned him plaudits from both supporters and the media, and it has been widely accepted that there will be a fight for his signature this summer.
Speaking last month, CEO Liam Scully revealed that there was already interest from both the Championship and beyond:
“With Ethan Erhahon, there is a great deal of interest in him,” he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire. “He’s one of the key players that has attracted attention from above in the Football League and even abroad.
“Whilst there’s been no firm offers yet, we’re watching that closely. We are well protected, as Jez (George) will have alluded to, in this situation. We’ve got a significant contract with Ethan, so it will have to be a very appetising offer for Lincoln City to accept that.”
Sky Sports now confirm that to be the case, with the Imps having received enquiries from several Championship clubs and abroad. However, it is stated that it would take a record sale to prise him away from the LNER Stadium. This would see the £640,000 Huddersfield Town paid for Harry Toffolo in 2020 surpassed, a fee which was made up of both the initial payment and the sell-on clause from his subsequent transfer to Nottingham Forest in 2022.

Liam Scully has always been very honest with Lincoln supporters. He had already admitted that it would be a struggle to keep Erhahon at Sincil Bank this summer, but it appears as if clubs are now stepping up their interest.
Having represented Scotland at various youth levels, the midfielder has always looked a level above in League One. He is capable of making the step up to the Championship with ease, and this seems the most logical step at this point in his career.
It is unclear whereabouts the interest is coming from from abroad, but England’s second and third tier are starting to become more prominent in the European market. Having already received a healthy sum for Lasse Sorensen, it is likely that the Imps will see their coffers boosted significantly as they set their sights on strengthening their squad ahead of another play-off push next season.
