Sheffield Wednesday complete fourth summer signing, it could be announced Friday
Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly closed a deal for their fourth summer signing.
Sheffield Wednesday have enjoyed a strong start to the summer transfer window under Danny Rohl, completing three permanent deals already.
Goalkeeper Ben Hamer and former Sheffield United full-back Ben Hamer have joined on free transfers, whilst Rohl has reunited with former Southampton Yan Valery, who’s joined on a permanent deal from Ligue 1 Angers.
Sheffield Wednesday are expected to complete several more transfer deals during this summer’s transfer window, with some more deal potentially getting over the line in the very near future.
The Owls have been linked with some exciting potential signings including some more names from overseas.
Swedish midfielder Svante Ingelsson has been linked with a summer move to Hillsborough, and it now appears that he’s closing in on a permanent switch to S6, likely becoming Rohl’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.

Sheffield Wednesday set to sign Svante Ingelsson
Swedish football journalist Daniel Kristoffersson has now revealed that Ingelsson to Sheffield Wednesday is a ‘done deal’, and that the move may even be announced on Friday.
Ingelsson, 26, was born in Sweden and made his name with his hometown team Kalmar FF, before leaving for Udinese in 2017.
Ingelsson though would only ever make 10 Serie A appearances for the club, spending time out on loan elsewhere in Italy, then back at Kalmar, and then in Germany with Paderborn.
Ingelsson completed a permanent move to Germany in 2021 with Hansa Rostock, who were relegated from the 2.Bundesliga last time round.
A key addition for Danny Rohl and Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday desperately needed, and still need bodies in the midfield this summer, following the departures of names like Will Vaulks.
Barry Bannan is currently the only natural central midfielder in the team but Ingelsson arriving adds another name and a bit of much-needed youth to the side as well.
What’s more exciting is the fact that Dejphon Chansiri appears to be putting his money where his mouth is this summer, which will show Rohl that Sheffield Wednesday is a club with ambition.
Much more is needed, though. And Sheffield Wednesday have to manage their resources well as to not be left short-handed later on in the summer transfer window should they become desperately in need of bodies in other positions.
But so far, so good for Sheffield Wednesday this summer, with Ingelsson now looking set to become the club’s fourth signing of the summer.
