‘Dougie Freedman is looking’… Journalist claims Crystal Palace could sign 19-goal striker for Oliver Glasner

Crystal Palace look likely to see Oliver Glasner as their next manager over the next few days, now his first target may have been revealed.

With Oliver Glasner’s arrival at Selhurst Park believed to be just a matter of time, it’s fair to be thinking about who he could want to be signed this summer.

While the number one priority will be to avoid relegation, a handful of wins will almost certainly guarantee that which will see attention turn towards the summer.

Now Crystal Palace will be tasked with building a team for Glasner, especially as the departure of Michael Olise looks certain.

We Are Palace have spoken to HITC Football’s transfer expert Graeme Bailey in order to gain some understanding on who Palace could target this summer.

Crystal Palace are looking in Germany and could sign a striker

With Glasner arriving, he will likely have a preference for Bundesliga players, given they’ll suit his style and he’ll likely be more familiar with them.

According to Graeme Bailey, this is something Palace are prepared for, “Germany will be somewhere they’re looking at, I know Dougie Freedman is looking at Germany. Germany is still a place where you can get good young players, value for money which is something Palace do.”

He then continued to admit that a striker is what Palace could look to sign in Germany, before naming exactly who that could be.

“I think Germany is where they might look for their striker, and [Serhou] Guirassy wouldn’t shock me for Palace.”

He’s bagged 19 goals in all competitions, along with two assists in just 17 games, playing a huge role in Stuttgart being third place in the Bundesliga right now.

Guirassy is a complete number nine, standing at 6ft 1in while also being quick and technically gifted, the perfect number nine for Glasner’s Palace.
