Wrexham join Plymouth Argyle and Hull City in pursuit of Premier League midfielder
Wrexham have joined Plymouth Argyle, Preston North End and Hull City in pursuit of Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Marc Leonard, according to a report by TEAMtalk.
Wrexham are keen on landing the Premier League man this summer as they prepare for life in League One. They have been promoted from League Two along with Stockport County, Mansfield Town and Crawley Town after finishing 2nd in the table

Leonard, 22, has spent the past two years on loan at Northampton Town to get some experience under his belt. He has been a key player for the Cobblers under the guidance of Jon Brady but has now gone back to the AMEX Stadium.
In this latest update regarding his situation by TEAMtalk, Wrexham are ready to join clubs in the Championship in the race for his signature as they look to bolster their ranks. However, they will have to face competition from the likes of Plymouth Argyle, Preston and Hull City.
Wrexham eye midfielder
Wrexham could see Leonard as someone to inject some more quality into their midfield ranks as they prepare for life in the third tier.
He has a year left on his contract at Brighton and his chances of breaking into their first-team next season are slim due to the abundance of top quality options that they have at their disposal in his position.
Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him head out the exit door on a permanent basis in the upcoming transfer window.
Northampton Town brought him in on loan in 2022 and he helped them win promotion from League Two last year. He then returned to Sixfields for another stint and adapted well to life in the league above.
He made 97 appearances for Brady’s side in all competitions to boost his development, chipping in with six goals.
Could Wrexham get him?
Wrexham are an ambitious club and could be an attractive project for Leonard to join.
The Welsh outfit will be aiming to be a force to be reckoned with again next term as they look to continue their rise up the football pyramid.
He would be guaranteed more game time at the Racecourse Ground as opposed to joining someone in the league above like Plymouth Argyle, Preston or Hull City.
Phil Parkinson’s side will be patient with their recruitment once again this summer and won’t rush into any early deals.
