Analyst Shares Perfect Trade Target for Los Angeles Dodgers
As the Los Angeles Dodgers get ready for the playoff push in the National League, who would be their perfect trade target?
In what has become the norm in the National League and the NL West, the Los Angeles Dodgers are once again a title contender. With what seems like bottomless pockets and stars all over the field, the Dodgers have their eyes on a deep postseason run.
While the Dodgers have the best record in the NL West, they have had to deal with their fair share of injuries easily in the season. One of the recent losses is Mookie Betts, who got hit on the hand by a pitch and will be out for an extended period of time.
Recently, ESPN spoke about who would be a perfect trade target for the Dodgers. Here’s what they had to say.
Weakness: Outfield
Best match: Randy Arozarena
There’s an argument to be made that the Dodgers go full Death Star: Get Bichette from Toronto to play shortstop, move Mookie Betts back to right field upon his return from a broken hand, slide Teoscar Hernandez to left, and mash. Or they could take the risk on Arozarena — in the midst of the worst season of his career — and figure joining a lineup with Betts, Hernandez, Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Will Smith would help him find his mojo.
Adding Arozarena would be a very interesting move for the Dodgers, but it is clear that adding an outfielder is the biggest need for the team. As mentioned, the Los Angeles Dodgers could add an infielder and move Betts back to the outfield, or they could go for a player like Arozarena.
The Rays are having an extremely disappointing season and as a small market team will likely be sellers and looking for prospects. Arozarena isn’t having a great season, but perhaps a change of scenery and joining a loaded Dodgers lineup would help him snap out of his funk.
Los Angeles will certainly be in the mix for a World Series this year and adding some outfield help will make them even better.
