Top striker options still available to West Brom as their Championship rivals set to release him

It was suggested by West Brom Xtra that there were late moves for Ali Al-Hamadi and David Datro Fofana in the final hours of the window that could signal that Carlos Corberan is still on the lookout for a striker.

Josh Maja has started the season well and if he can keep himself fit then there won’t be as much as a need for a forward. Devante Cole joined earlier in the summer, and once he gets himself up to speed, he could prove to be a decent acquisition.

Elsewhere in the West Brom ranks, Jed Wallace is capable of playing in the role, whilst you’ve also got Daryl Dike to come back from injury. It could be a case of waiting for Dike to return, and the Baggies riding out but should anything happen, there’s still a good selection of strikers out there that are waiting to be snapped up.

Algerian striker Andy Delort has been a free agent since leaving Qatari club Umm Salal SC in February. Most of his career has been spent in France where he was born, but there was a brief spell in England with Wigan Athletic, where he played 11 times but failed to score.

He’s 32-years-old but boasts a record of 85 goals in 259 games in the top tier of French football. At his last club, he got 13 goals and six assists in 20 games which isn’t a bad return, and he was the captain. It was suggested in May that French clubs wanted to sign him, but no move has happened as of yet. It’s likely his next move would be back to France, but he’s still an option to consider.

The 24-year-old is still without a club after being released by Hull City. At Championship level, he has 12 goals in 52 games, which isn’t a bad return. Last season, Connolly got eight goals in 28 league games, and so he’d be a good option to have off of the bench.

Isaac Success had a spell in England with Watford, and was there for a few seasons. The four-time Nigeria international mainly played in the Premier League for the Hornets, but did play 10 times for them before before making a move to Udinese. He has only just become a free agent having been released at the end of August.

The 33-year-old is now a free agent after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al-Riyadh. His record for them was seven goals and three assists in 28 games, which is an alright return. Gray’s return in the Championship is 56 goals and 20 assists in 146 games, and he’s also tasted what it’s like to win promotion from the division, and also won the Golden Boot in the 2015/16 season.
