Ipswich Town and Norwich City eyeing midfielder, Celtic also keen
Ipswich Town and Norwich City are both believed to be interested in a move for Queen’s Park midfielder Aiden McGinlay, according to a report by the Daily Record.
Ipswich Town and Norwich City are both being linked with a swoop for the youngster this summer, along with Scottish Premiership giants Celtic. The Tractor Boys have booked their place in the Premier League for next season following their Championship promotion under the guidance of Kieran McKenna.
McGinlay, 17, is being tipped for a bright future in the game and his current team could face a battle to keep hold of him over the next couple of months amid attention from below the border in England.
According to the Daily Record, he had a trial at Ipswich Town last year and they have kept tabs on him ever since and could swoop in for him now. However, they face competition from rivals Norwich City and Celtic for his signature.

Ipswich Town could see McGinlay as one for the future as they weigh up who to sign in the upcoming transfer window.
The Tractor Boys need to ensure that they get their recruitment right as they look to be competitive in the top flight.
McGinlay wouldn’t be an addition for their first-team in the interim and is likely to link up with their development squad with a view to breaking into their senior set-up down the line.
He is a Scotland youth international and was on the books at Partick Thistle before joining Queen’s Park. The Glasgow outfit play their football in the Scottish Championship these days and finished in 8th position in this past term.
As for Norwich City, they may have identified the teenager as someone to bolster their youth ranks as they look to join Ipswich Town in getting promoted from the second tier.
David Wagner’s side finished in 6th place behind West Brom and above Hull City and will take on 3rd place Leeds United in the play-off semi-finals as they look to book a place at Wembley against either the Baggies or Southampton.
Celtic have also been credited with an interest in McGinlay too as they currently look to pip Rangers to the title under Brendan Rodgers.
Ipswich Town or Norwich City switch?
Ipswich Town would be an exciting team to join right now, especially as a young player, following their surprise promotion.
Norwich City are also an attractive team to play for but it remains to be seen what league they will be playing in next season which will impact their transfer plans right now. The play-offs are always a lottery and they will have to be at their best to get past a Leeds United side who are littered with attacking quality.
