Everton agree deal for Tim Iroegbunam, next up Jack Harriso

Everton have “completed” a deal to sign Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer expert wrote on X (20 June) that the Toffees have sealed a £9 million deal to sign the 20-year-old midfielder.

The young midfielder will now undergo his medical in the coming days to complete his transfer.

Romano says that after securing the signing of Iroegbunam, the Toffees will look to complete a loan deal for Leeds United winger Jack Harrison.

Nancy Froston of The Athletic reported on June 19 that the 27-year-old winger is close to moving to Goodison Park. Leeds will not demand any loan fee for Harrison but they will want Everton to pay his full wages.

Everton looking to do seal double deals

Iroegbunam progressed through West Brom academy and joined Villa in 2022. He spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Queens Park Rangers where he made 32 appearances and scored twice.

His arrival could pave the way for Amadou Onana’s departure in the summer. The Toffees are likely to sell the Belgian international this month to comply with the Premier League’s financial rules, although they have not received any bids yet.

The England Under-20 international is keen to get regular game time, something he is likely to get at Goodison Park next season. Villa want to sign Connor Gallagher and Ross Barkley this summer, and are happy to let the young midfielder leave this summer.

Iroegbunam made 15 Premier League appearances and 21 across all competitions last season, and he should be able to make the step up at Everton.

Harrison joined the Toffees on loan last season and played regularly under Sean Dyche. He scored scored three goals and registered three assists in 29 Premier League games, and it was no brainer for Everton to bring him to Goodison Park once again.

In a separate deal, Everton winger Lewis Dobbin could move to Villa Park this summer, and talks have taken place over a potential move.
