Coventry City transfer gossip from CoventryLive as Sky Blues midfielder Ben Sheaf continues to be linked with interest from other clubs

Newly promoted Ipswich Town have again been linked with Coventry City’s Ben Sheaf, although the club’s valuation for one of their current biggest saleable assets ‘could be a problem,’ it is claimed.

The Sun’s transfer specialist Alan Nixon is reporting that the Tractor Boys, who gained automatic promotion to the Premier League in their first season back in the Championship, are looking to bolster their midfield, with Nottingham Forest’s Lewis O’Brien high on their list of targets, which is claimed to include Sky Blues’ star Sheaf.

O’Brien, 25, spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and is now claimed to be set to leave the City Ground for good, with Boro keen to take him back. Relegated Sheffield United are also said to be interested in O’Brien.

Ipswich would appear to be favourites to sign the player, who is ‘valued under £10m,’ according to the report, which says: “Ipswich are also looking into Coventry midfielder Ben Sheaf, although his price tag could be a problem.

“O’Brien is valued under £10 million while the Sky Blues are asking much more than that for Sheaf, who is also wanted by Luton.”

Luton were first linked with interest in Sheaf – who is set to be named Mark Robins’ new captain if he stays at the CBS Arena this summer – back in January, while Fulham have also been linked with the former Arsenal prospect so far this summer.
