Statistics show Crystal Palace player is actually outperforming £214m player in several areas this season
This season there has been one Crystal Palace ace who’s been a surprisingly impressive star, particularly for Oliver Glasner.
Oliver Glasner‘s list of requirements for this summer’s transfer window will be growing weekly, amid a poor run and injury woes.
Just one win in five for Crystal Palace under Glasner, and the need for an overhaul has never been more evident.
But with such a long list of positions needed, prioritising will need to take place, which makes some positions far less of an urgent need.
One position in this situation is the striker position, with Jean-Philippe Mateta proving his worth recently up top.
Now it’s been revealed just how good he’s been…
Jean-Philippe Mateta has been better than Erling Haaland in multiple areas
Since the arrival of Glasner, the main benefactor on the pitch has been big number nine Mateta.
The Frenchman has grabbed three goals under Glasner in five games and firmly established himself as the number nine ahead of Odsonne Edouard.
Now, it’s been revealed by Squawka that Mateta has actually been better than the £214m valued striker Erling Haaland.
Mateta has outperformed Haaland per 90 this season across four different areas. These are his shot accuracy, conversion rate, chances created and also successful take-on.
Haaland has been better though in shots on target, winning goals, non-penalty goals, fouls won and touches in the opposition box.
