In Focus: James Ward-Prowse's debut a sign of things to come at West Ham | LiveScore

Nottingham Forest fans stunned by ‘huge’ James Ward-Prowse decision ahead of the transfer deadline day

Nottingham Forest fans have been left stunned after Lee Carsley named Morgan Gibbs-White in his first England squad for the September international break.

Carsley was appointed interim boss after Gareth Southgate stepped down following Euro 2024, and he has not been shy about making changes.

Gibbs-White, 24, will join up with the senior international side for the first time ahead of Nations League clashes with the Republic of Ireland and Finland.

Alongside him, Noni Madueke, Angel Gomes and Tino Livramento have also been handed their first senior call-ups by the new boss.

He has already shown a willingness to trust players he worked with during his time as England’s Under-21s manager – as all three played a significant part in his previous setup.

The Forest man had been considered unlucky to have missed out on the Euro 2024 squad, but has now been rewarded for his outstanding club performances.

Supporters across the country were shocked by Carsley’s willingness to change things immediately as he looks to stamp his mark on the squad.

Lee Carsley stuns Nottingham Forest fans with Morgan Gibbs-White call
Gibbs-White has been one of the most consistently impressive performers at the City Ground over the previous 12 months, and will now be handed international recognition.

Last season, he found the net six times and provided ten assists in 42 appearances, and has scored one goal in his two appearances this time out.

After Carsley’s first England squad was announced, fans flooded social media in response to his changes, and Forest fans were buzzing for their star man.

Nottingham Forest fans have pushed the club to make a “mint signing” in the form of West Ham midfielder James Ward-Prowse.

Football Insider revealed that Forest are plotting an ambitious late-window bid for the central midfielder as he has fallen down the pecking order at West Ham.

Ward-Prowse isn’t in Julen Lopetegui’s plans in the same way he was under David Moyes, and the Irons are keen to move him on this week.

Football Insider revealed that Forest are likely to test West Ham’s resolve with a loan-to-buy offer first, but other Premier League clubs are said to have been alerted about shi availability.

It is believed that West Ham would prefer a permanent sale to take place for the England international this week.

The Hammers are aware that they will struggle to recoup the £30million that they spent on him, but they would be willing to accept a £35million bid.
