Leicester City player to make transfer decision ‘end of this week’ – Evaluating offers, 3 teams involved
Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho lost prominence at Leicester City after he returned from AFCON in February and made only five appearances for the Foxes since then.
The striker has over a month left on his deal and several clubs have him on their agenda for the summer window.
Four days ago, Fanatik reported the 27-year-old has decided not to continue at Leicester and Fenerbahçe will make contact with his agent to find out the conditions needed to sign him.
Takvim state the Yellow Canaries have made contact with his representative. It’s further claimed that they aren’t alone and are joined by Beşiktaş and Galatasaray in the chase for the Leicester player.
Beşiktaş and Galatasaray are insistent on the former Manchester City man, and they have also joined Fenerbahçe in approaching his agent. In addition to the three Turkish clubs, the report adds there are teams from Italy and Germany that are showing interest in him.
Takvim explain Iheanacho will evaluate the offers and will announce his final decision at the ‘end of this month’.
Fenerbahçe have ‘entered the transfer war’ with Beşiktaş and Galatasaray and hope to beat their league rivals for Iheanacho’s signature.
Two Nigerian players in the club, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, have contracts expiring at the end of the season, with no indication of the club renewing Iheanacho’s contract.
Ndidi has reportedly attracted interest from La Liga sides Sevilla and Barcelona, as well as Turkish side Galatasaray, due to his impressive performances for the Foxes.
However, Maresca expressed a willingness to part ways with these key players for financial reasons, as long as the club can bring in suitable replacements.
Iheanacho has been linked with a move to join Aston Villa as a free agent, while Crystal Palace and Everton have also shown interest in signing the Nigerian attacker.
