Mandela Keita, invité surprise chez les Diables Rouges ? Pas vraiment si surprenant que ça… - RTBF Actus

Leicester have ‘concrete interest’ in signing another player as Manager indicates player wants transfer

Leicester City are one of the clubs in the picture to sign Royal Antwerp’s Mandela Keita this summer, according to a report from Belgium.

The midfielder was on loan at the Jupiler Pro League side for the last 18 months and his displays for them haven’t gone unnoticed.

Het Laatste Nieuws claim Leicester, Stade Rennes and Fiorentina have all shown ‘concrete interest’ to secure the 22-year-old’s services this summer.

The three clubs are set to battle it out for the Belgium international’s signature, and the report makes no mention of his preference among the Foxes and two other teams.
Royal Antwerp would have made the player’s stay permanent. HLN say both Keita and the Belgian club are open to parting ways in this window, but they aren’t aware of the fee needed to convince his employer.

At the weekend, he came off the bench in his side’s 1-0 league win over Royal Charleroi. After the tie, Royal Antwerp manager Jonas De Roeck stated that the midfielder’s focused on securing a move to another club.

“It is human that boys who have transfer concerns have a more difficult time. Then it is sometimes important to protect them,” he said, as quoted by HLN.

This could please Leicester, Stade Rennes and Fiorentina, and it remains to be seen who will win the battle for Keita’s signature.

Leicester City have confirmed the signing of highly-rated forward Noemie Mouchon from Stade de Reims, subject to league and international clearance.

The 21-year-old has signed a three-year contract at the King Power Stadium ahead of the 2024/25 Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) campaign after a successful spell in her native France. Mouchon impressed in the Première Ligue last term, posting a tally of nine goals from 22 league appearances for Reims.

Speaking to LCFC.com, the striker said: “I’m super happy to sign for Leicester City and I’m hoping to have a great season with the club. This is a great Club that can develop players with potential. It goes without saying that the WSL is the most attractive league in Europe, if not the world. It’s a dream for most female footballers to play in England.”

Born in the north of France, Mouchon began her senior career with Lille OSC in 2019 before making the move to Reims in 2023, where she joined up with City’s new first team manager, Amandine Miquel. A successful season for both saw Reims finish in fourth place in the league table, only behind Paris FC, Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon, with Mouchon leading the line for the majority of their games.
