Dan Quinn Gifts Cowboys Potential Backup QB for Training Camp

Dan Quinn Sensational QB To Cowboys as Potential Backup Quarterback for Training Camp ahead of NFL Draft

The Dallas Cowboys could take advantage of Dan Quinn’s moves in Washington.

On paper, the quarterback rotation for the Dallas Cowboys seems fine. Dak Prescott, backed up by Trey Lance and Cooper Rush, seems like a solid group to begin the season. Once you realize, however, that all three players are in the final season of their contracts, it starts to look less ideal.

Plus, Lance and Rush are far from proven NFL quarterbacks. Whether the Cowboys would be in good hands if Prescott were to miss significant time is a big question mark.

Therefore, it would behoove Dallas to bring more signal-callers to training camp to create more competition and options. Instead, the Cowboys decided to let go of a quarterback who impressed during the rookie minicamp, signaling a lack of desire to add more QBs to the training camp roster.

Decreased OL performance has led to Cowboys increase in turnovers

There are still quarterbacks entering the market every day that the Cowboys can take advantage of. The most recent name that is now available comes courtesy of former Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.

Now the head coach of the Washington Commanders, Quinn just released former Georgia star Jake Fromm.

Fromm was a fifth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft. He hasn’t been able to carry the success he had with the Bulldogs for three seasons to the NFL. He bounced around to the Giants and the Commanders before being released by Washington due to the crowded QB rotation there.

The Commanders just drafted Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick. They also have Marcus Mariota, Jeff Driskel, and undrafted rookie QB Sam Hartman to back him up, leaving no room for Fromm.

However, Fromm is still 25 years old. The Cowboys could easily bring him in, give him a chance, and see whether he is capable of reaching the potential he had when he first entered the league.

Tom Brady’s final NFL game was a disappointing one for him and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It took place on January 16, 2023, in the first round of the playoffs, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Buccaneers by a score of 31-14.

The Buccaneers entered the playoffs with a shaky record of 8-10, and the game reflected that inconsistency. Tampa Bay’s offense struggled throughout, with Tom Brady throwing for 351 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

The Bucs defense couldn’t contain Dak Prescott. Dak Prescott was the clear MVP of the game. He completed 25 of 33 passes for 305 yards and threw 4 touchdown passes, along with rushing for another touchdown.

This win marked the first time the Cowboys had beaten Tom Brady and the first playoff win on the road for Dallas in 30 years.
