Latest Tottenham Hotspur transfer news and gossip as Manor Solomon reportedly closes in on a move away from North London

Manor Solomon is reportedly closing in on a move away from Tottenham Hotspur before the transfer window closes.

Solomon has spent the majority of his career with Spurs recovering from a knee injury he suffered in October last year.

The forward signed for Tottenham last summer on a free transfer but has made just six appearances for the club.

After undergoing surgery on his meniscus in his knee back in March, Solomon has gradually been stepping up his recovery.

Now it seems the forward is edging closer to a move away from North London. According to Fabrizio Romano, Solomon is close to completing a move to Leeds United before the window closes. English clubs have until next Friday to finish their transfer business for the summer.

Back in June, Solomon posted a video on social media which showed he was nearing a return to fitness. The Israel international was spotted in a training session where he dribbled past a mannequin before shooting the ball into an empty net.

Spurs have added four new signings to their squad this summer with Dominic Solanke, Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Wilson Odobert moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With Solanke, Bergvall and Odobert’s arrivals, in particular, it was always going to be difficult for Solomon to achieve regular game time once he returns to full fitness, something which he will hope to achieve should a loan move to Leeds be completed.

And it wasn’t just in north London where he faced opposition from his players after there were reports of discontent within the squad at Stamford Bridge too. After clinching the Premier League title with Chelsea in 2017, The Sun reported certain Blues stars were worn out by the coach’s training regimes, which are known to be strenuous.

“Around us, there is a lot of b******t,” Conte candidly told the press at the time, dismissing such speculation. “I see in the past it happened the same with a lot of managers. A lot of b******t. They try to create problems between me, the club and players.”

McTominay looks set to face a crucial decision about his future at United with less than a week left in the transfer window. The £30million-rated midfielder reportedly wants to stay at the club he’s been with since his childhood, but sources indicate United may be looking to cash in to bolster their transfer kitty.
