Met Office update snow warning for Wrexham and Flintshire
TEMPERATURES are set to drop across Wrexham and Flintshire as the Met Office updates their snow weather warning
Yesterday (February 5) the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow, stating “a period of snowfall could bring some disruption on
Thursday and into Friday morning”.
It was initially in place from 3am on Thursday (February 8) until 3am on Friday (February 9).
That has since changed, with the warning now coming into effect from 6am on Thursday. It will remain in place until 6am on Friday.
The Met Office says there is a small chance of power cuts, delays on roads, and rural communities being cut off.
Before the snow hits, temperatures are expected to drop across both counties, starting tomorrow (February 7).
Today’s forecast is rain and showers until mid-afternoon, with highs of 12C, before it dries off and becomes cooler overnight.
On Wednesday, there will be highs of around 5C and on Thursday it will be around 1C.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “Today: Bright spells during the morning in the east. Otherwise, cloudy with heavy rain spreading southwards across the country. Very windy, though feeling mild when in sheltered locations.
“Tonight: Wet start to the evening, then turning drier from the north as rain gradually clears, though remaining reasonably cloudy. Winds falling much lighter. Much chillier than recent nights. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
“Wednesday: A fine and dry day with periods of hazy sunshine poking through wispy layers of cloud. Feeling notably colder and fresher than of late. Light winds.
