Liam Rosenior's First Press Conference At Hull City

Update emerges regarding future of Hull City loan ace ahead of the transfer window

Hull City loan ace Liam Delap will be sold by Manchester City this summer to the highest bidder, reports Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

Hull City swooped to land the striker to East Yorkshire on a temporary basis last July to bolster their attacking options and he turned into a useful addition for Liam Rosenior’s side.

Delap, 21, scored eight goals in 31 appearances in all competitions for the Tigers and got plenty of first-team football under his belt at the MKM Stadium to help boost his development. He is now due to return to the Etihad Stadium and the Premier League champions have a big decision to make regarding his future.

In this latest update regarding his situation by journalist Nixon on his Patreon, his parent club Manchester City will consider cashing in on him in the upcoming transfer window and want around £10million for his signature, with a potential buy-back clause included in any deal.

Hull City loan ace latest

Hull City took a gamble on Delap this past season and repaid them with some impressive performances. His pace and power caused problems for opponents and he was given a lot of trust by Rosenior.

He got injured in January and didn’t return until late April and his four months on the sidelines really hurt the Tigers’ promotion push. Although Billy Sharp and Noah Ohio were brought in to fill the void left by his absence, they are different players and weren’t able to make the same impact.

Delap has been with Manchester City since joining them from Derby County in 2019 and he has played six times for Pep Guardiola’s side, chipping in with a single goal.

He had loan spells at Stoke City and Preston North End before his switch to Hull City but struggled in front of goal for the second tier pair, finding the net on a combined four occasions.

Could Hull City bring him back?

Hull City would no doubt be keen to lure Delap back for a second stint. However, it is unlikely that they would be able to fork out the £10million fee that has been mentioned as his price tag.

If Manchester City were to loan him out to the Football League again though, the Tigers would surely fancy their chances of winning the race for his signature as he knows the club inside out, the way they play and the manager Rosenior.
