Former Teammate Says Top WR Prospect Would Be Great Fit With Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets are in desperate need of a playoff berth.

It has been over a decade since this team made the postseason, and while fans expected them to get there last year, things didn’t exactly go in their favor.

With Aaron Rodgers supposedly healthy heading into 2024, however, fans are becoming more hopeful of their dreams becoming a reality.

In the meantime, the Jets have been trying to put the best possible roster around Rodgers, giving him every opportunity to succeed.

While they have added several key pieces already, one analyst believes the Jets are not done yet.

Kurt Benkert recently appeared in a segment of “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams, talking about his favorite wide receiver prospect that he thinks the Jets should draft.

“If Rome falls, they need to take him,” Benkert said.

He also indicated that Rome Odunze reminds him a lot of Davante Adams, a player who grew to be Rodgers’ top target in Green Bay.

The Jets currently have the No. 10 overall pick in the draft, and while some think Odunze will go before pick 10, if he is still there, Benkert believes this is a win-win for the Jets.

In the short-term, they’d have a wide receiver to link up with Rodgers, adding to his plethora of riches on offense.

In the long term, they potentially have a player who can be a franchise cornerstone for the foreseeable future, pairing him with Garrett Wilson.

If the Jets have a similar analysis of Odunze and are looking to add one final piece to their offense, this could be the player they need to make it into the playoffs.
