Luton Town defender keen on switch to Middlesbrough amid Hull City interest

is keen on a move back to Middlesbrough this summer, as per Teesside Live.

Luton Town will be competing in the Championship again next season following their relegation last time around from the Premier League.

Middlesbrough and Hull City both narrowly missed out on a top six finish last season and now both clubs are eyeing the same man.

Giles, 24, spent part of last season on loan at Hull City. He played 17 times for the Tigers, assisting once, as well as playing 11 games for Luton Town whilst at Kenilworth Road.

However, Hull City are said to be in talks with a permanent move for the left-sided defender whilst it has been claimed the Englishman is keen on a move back to Teesside with Boro who are also monitoring the situation.

It has been reported that Boro won’t overpay for the defender though and should he become available, either one of Alex Bangura or Lukas Engel would likely have to depart.

Another summer switch

Giles doesn’t appear to be a huge part of Luton Town’s plans moving forward and it is no real surprise he has drummed up interest from two of his former clubs.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a good season in the north east with Boro and played 48 times across all competitions, getting 12 assists throughout.
