After six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, former Husky Ezekiel Turner is on the move. On Sunday, he agreed to a one-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers. The deal is being reported as being worth $1.3 million.

Last season, while seeing time on special teams and getting some reps with the regular defense, Turner posted 20 tackles.

He has become somewhat of a special teams ace for the Cardinals since he signed with them back in 2018. While playing in 80 games for Turner has posted 83 tackles, a forced fumble and two blocked punts. He also caught a pass for 26 yards during the 2020 season.

While most of his playing time has been on special teams, Turner did log 120 defensive snaps this past season.Miami Dolphins name McDaniel head coach

Turner took a circuitous route to becoming a Husky back in the 2015 recruiting class.

As a prep in Maryland, Turner was a lightly recruited prospect, so he decided to head to Pierce College in Los Angeles where he started just one season for the Brahmas before choosing Washington over Oklahoma, Maryland and West Virginia.

“Coach (Jimmy) Lake gets guys ready for the NFL and that’s important to me, but coach (Chris) Petersen is a great man and he runs a great program that gets you ready for life after football,” Turner told Dawgman.com at the time of his commitment.
