Jon Cooper | Postgame R1G3LEAFS NOTES: Max Domi shrugs off Bruins accusations of bumping goalie Swayman

Max Domi’s halo might have looked a little crooked on Friday, but the alleged driver of a bumper-car incident with Jeremy Swayman claimed innocence.

A Game 3 sideswipe of Swayman sent the Boston goalie to the ice during a timeout, which aggravated the Boston bench and was a talking point of their off-day media availability Thursday.

“I bumped him? First I’ve heard of it,” insisted Domi after the Leafs returned to practice on Friday following a day off for the team.

“I think we ran into each other, but it’s open for interpretation I guess. I go for a skate every time (they clean the ice).”Jon Cooper | Postgame R1G3

Defenceman Brandon Carlo said Pat Maroon brought it to the attention of the officials and the other Bruins, while coach Jim Montgomery said Domi deliberately came off Toronto’s bench to unsettle Swayman.

He hailed his goalie as ranking a close second to captain Brad Marchand as the most fiery and competitive Bruin.

Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe played down the incident in his Thursday comments but, on Friday, Domi repeated he was in the dark about the whole thing.

“I didn’t know it was being magnified,” he said. “I couldn’t care less what (the Bruins) say.”
