CHERRIES boss Andoni Iraola is looking for answers after another slip proved costly in his side’s 2-2 draw at home to Sheffield United.

Before either side had scored, Dominic Solanke had the perfect opportunity to grab the game’s first goal from the penalty spot.

However, as Cherries’ talisman kicked the ball, he slipped, sending the ball flying over the bar.

Solanke is not the first Cherry to take a tumble in recent weeks.

Away from home, Lewis Cook skidded and lost possession in the build up to Fulham’s first goal in a 3-1 defeat last month, before Lloyd Kelly’s slip was also punished by Matt Ritchie in a 2-2 draw away at Newcastle United.

At Vitality Stadium, Enes Unal required a trip to the hospital after he slipped and collided with a Leicester City defender.

Basque boss Iraola confirmed that he will be speaking with the Dean Court groundsmen, as well as his players about their footwear.

He explained: “It’s something that concerns me because I think we’ve lost points because of this.

“We lost points against Newcastle, we lost points against Fulham –  in the first goal.

“Also a couple of injury situations that come from slips.

“It’s something we may we have to talk with the groundsmen (about), because it’s costing us points.

“At the end, it is costing us points.

“We’ve talked about this, about the studs, the boots, and they know it.

“But, it happened again.”

Asked if the pitch was being overwatered, Iraola continued: “I don’t know.

“At the end you, you want to wet the pitch because we want to play a high rhythm, the ball to go fast.
