The Cleveland Browns Are Bringing In A Huge Rugby Star For A Visit And Could Sign Him To The Roster
The Cleveland Browns had a great offseason in 2024. They made one of the most underrated trades in the NFL when they traded for Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. They have been adding to the roster left and right, and they could bring in a national star to their team.
Cleveland Browns Are Bringing In A Rugby Star
A report from Rob Maaddi on X stated that the Cleveland Browns are bringing Welsh rugby start Louis Rees-Zammit in for a visit. Maaddi also noted that the New York Jets would also bring Rees-Zammit.
Rees-Zammit is a 23-year-old Welsh Rugby star who turned his back on the sport of rugby to try to make a run at the NFL.
Rees-Zammit has been working out in the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program since January and had his pro day this week in front of NFL scouts.
Rees-Zammit has the skills to be a running back, wide receiver, and returner, and the Browns’ decision to bring him in for a visit is very interesting.
The Cleveland Browns Don’t Have Time To Make Rees-Zammit Into A Star
I’m assuming if the Cleveland Browns were to sign Rees-Zammit, he would most likely come to camp as a player who could make the team based on special teams and see if they can work out him being a running back or wide receiver, but the Browns don’t have time to play around with projects.
The Browns are built to win now and can’t waste a roster spot on a guy who isn’t ready to play football yet. They could take a place away from someone who could help from day one.
