Coventry City ‘set to’ sign £5m Callum O’Hare replacement
Coventry City transfer news from CoventryLive as the Sky Blues are reported to be signing 23-year-old forward for £5m
Coventry City are ‘set to sign’ Huddersfield Town’s exciting young forward Jack Rudoni, it has been claimed.
South London News footballer writer Richard Cawley, who covers the 23-year-old’s former club AFC Wimbledon, reports that the Sky Blues have struck a deal with the Terriers for a fee of ‘around £5million’ and that the player is due to have a medical this afternoon.
Cawley states that AFC Wimbledon, where Rudoni started out as an Academy player aged 11, have a 20 per cent sell-on clause on the profit of their original deal when the Dons sold him to Town for an ‘undisclosed’ fee, reported at the time as £800,000, in the summer of 2022, signing a four year dear
The report, however, said that City were put off by a £10m price tag, and had therefore turned their attention elsewhere. But it appears this latest development will see City get their man for significantly less than that figure.
And Nixon claimed today that the fee will be “£6million plus extras.”
Rudoni is currently contracted to the club until the summer of 2026, with the now League One outfit understood to have an option of a further year. The left-footed midfielder, who has had two seasons in the Championship, caught the eye when the Sky Blues played against Town last season.
