Tottenham now ready to sell their £72m defender after Leeds decision
Tottenham Hotspur are ploughing on with their January business and could now look to cash in on returning defender, Djed Spence.
Spence was sent back to north London by Leeds this week in a move that has shocked those at Spurs.
Tottenham paid £20m to bring Spence in from Middlesbrough when Fabio Paratici was at the transfer helm but he has failed to make an impression. Antonio Conte consistently refused to select him, and Ange Postecoglou sent him to Elland Road this summer.
And now, it looks like Spurs will look to sell the defender permanently.
Tottenham ready to sell Djed Spence after Leeds return
According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham are ready to sell Spence now he has come back to the club.
It’s claimed there was a real surprise about Leeds’ decision to send Spence back and now Tottenham will try and seize the moment by getting some money back for the defender.
Tottenham are looking to shift a few players out and the same report mentions how the club are also open to selling Sergio Reguilon. The Spaniard returned from Man United this week.

Interestingly, United are now thought to be keen on signing Ryan Sessegnon, who is due back from injury soon.
Spence needs a move
And more for his own sake. Something has clearly not gone well for Spence of late and it’s a bit of a kick in the teeth for him to see Leeds send him back.
He doesn’t seem to have a career with Spurs and it does look like Antonio Conte might have been right about the young defender all along.
Right now, he needs to find a way out and go to a club who are going to really invest in him and give him game-time consistently.
From there, he’d need to get back to his best and show the form that he did with Nottingham Forest.
Luckily, Spence is still young enough to make a real go of his career. But this next move feels crucial and he simply has to get it right.
