Brighton Hove Albion Chief Executive Paul Barber Insists, 50% OFF

Barcelona winger set to refuse €10-15m loan operation to prove himself to Hansi Flick

According to journalist David Bernabeu’s report in SPORT, a few days ago, Bayer Leverkusen approached Barcelona with an offer for either a loan or a transfer of Ansu Fati.

The German team’s offer ranged between €10-15 million, which is considered affordable, but the team is of the idea that the player might not be interested because he wants to do the pre-season training with Hansi Flick.

It is no secret that Barcelona are open to the idea of transferring Ansu this summer and Bernabeu’s report came in the wake of Barcelona’s interest in Jeremie Frimpong.

“A few days ago there was an approach about Ansu Fati,” said Bernabeu.

“Proposal for a loan or affordable transfer. €10-15 million. Barça believes that he will not accept it because he wants to do the preseason with Flick,” he added.

As reported before, the Catalan team recently approached the German side to discuss acquiring Frimpong, but their offer was significantly lower than what Leverkusen values the player at. This is where Ansu’s situation becomes relevant.

Interest in Ansu Fati is plenty

Since Leverkusen are interested in Ansu, Barcelona see an opportunity to use him as part of the negotiation to get Frimpong and for what it is worth, Xabi Alonso’s team is open to considering this kind of deal.

At the same time, it is important to note that there has been considerable interest in Ansu Fati from various clubs.

Even though his loan spell with Brighton and Hove Albion did not go as well as he had hoped, several La Liga teams have shown interest in him.

One of these teams is Sevilla. However, Barcelona are not in favour of allowing Fati to move to Sevilla this summer. There are several reasons for this.

Firstly, if Fati were to go to Sevilla on loan, it would not be financially beneficial for them since Sevilla are only willing to cover 30% of Fati’s wages, which means Barcelona would still have to pay a large portion of his salary.

Because of this, Barcelona would prefer to sell the forward outright rather than loan him out for another season.

But it seems that the player himself is keen on staying with Barcelona for now. This is because he wants to participate in the pre-season training under Flick before deciding on his future.
