Bournemouth star completely dismisses Tottenham transfer rumours – Not engaging in idea

Bournemouth defender Ilya Zabarnyi has talked down any transfer rumours linking him to Tottenham.

The centre-back has been speaking to Dynamo Kiev.UA about various topics today and that included transfer rumours about him.

The 22-year-old has been in England since January 2023, when he joined Bournemouth in a €22.7m deal from Dynamo Kiev.

He’s been a regular since then and formed a solid partnership with Marco Senesi in the team that ultimately impressed under Andoni Iraola last season.

That, as is often the case for teams like Bournemouth, led to speculation about a potential move away from the south coast in future.

Tottenham have been credited with a move on more than one occasion as they continue to reshape their squad for Ange Postecoglou moving forwards.

Zabarnyi isn’t interested in such rumours, though, insisting he’s dismissed them out of hand whenever they’ve been brought up.

“There have always been rumours, but I haven’t talked to my agents about it, and I’m focused on playing at Bournemouth. And then we’ll see, I don’t know anything yet,” he said when asked about transfer rumours about him.

It remains to be seen what his stance is if Tottenham’s apparent interest ever becomes something concrete in future.

They’re well covered with Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies at this moment in time so it seems unlikely any move is on the cards.

That can always change quickly, although for now it seems Zabarnyi is refusing to engage or provide any fuel to the idea.

Harry Kane could’ve played with Brennan Johnson

Johnson is clearly a massive fan of Harry Kane, and it’s a real shame that these two never got to play with one another at Spurs.

The Wales international joined Tottenham just weeks after Kane departed, and it’s interesting to ponder how these two would’ve played together.
