Chesterfield Midfielder Bolsters Grantham Squad

Pitching In NPL East Division strugglers Grantham Town have signed Chesterfield midfielder Sam Hooper on loan until the end of the season.

Hooper signed a professional contract with the Spireites in the summer and spent the early part of the season at Northern Premier League outfit Matlock Town.

He made five competitive appearances for the Gladiators, starting once.

His arrival is a timely one for a Gingerbreads side currently sat a point adrift at the foot of the NPL East Division table.

Nevertheless, they have yet to lose a game in 2024 and were pegged back twice away at Sam Hooper on Saturday as the two sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
