San Diego Padres’Sensational Star Face with Controversial Criticisms During his Scary Injury terms but Decide His Fate

The San Diego Padres placed second baseman Xander Bogaerts on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a fractured left shoulder.

The four-time All-Star sustained the injury when he dove to reach a ground ball in the third inning in the opening game of Monday’s doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves.

The Padres said Bogaerts, 31, did not suffer a labrum tear and does not require surgery at this time. The bone needs time to heal, but Bogaerts hopes to return to the lineup by late summer.

Bogaerts is batting .219 with four homers and 14 RBIs in 47 games this season, his second with San Diego following 10 seasons with the Boston Red Sox.

Bogaerts is a lifetime .289 hitter with 179 home runs and 755 RBIs in 1,466 games since making his debut with the Red Sox in 2013.

In corresponding moves, the Padres selected the contract of veteran outfielder David Peralta and transferred right-hander Luis Patino (elbow) to the 60-day injured list.

Peralta, 36, signed with San Diego earlier this month. He is a career .279 hitter with 117 home runs and 541 RBIs in 1,141 games with the Arizona Diamondbacks (2014-22), Tampa Bay Rays (2022) and Los Angeles Dodgers (2023).

Are they simply a .500 team or will they turn a corner in June? Jeremiah Estrada is awesome. And Fernando Tatis Jr. is showing signs of breaking out.

Fernando Tatis Jr. did nothing but rake since bursting onto the scene with the San Diego Padres in 2019. At age 20, Tatis hit 22 home runs in just a little over a half a season’s worth of games (84) with a stellar OPS of .969. Tatis was on the verge of becoming the face of the MLB, as he blended superstar-level performance at the plate, youthful exuberance, and an infectiously joyful personality. Alas, the Tatis hype train faced a considerable halt in 2022, as the MLB suspended the Padres star for 80 games due to PED usage, causing him

Now, Tatis is back, but his star has dimmed considerably. Not only has his PED-related suspension tainted his image in the eyes of many, his performance level has dropped a bit from the top-tier level he played at in his first three seasons in the MLB. But there is more to the Padres right fielder’s career than meets the eye.

Many understandably hitched their wagons on Fernando Tatis Jr. when his star was skyrocketing during his first few seasons in the league. But all the glitz and glamour has its drawbacks, with the Padres star admitting that the attention he drew almost became too much for him to deal with.
