NFL Draft’s best available players after first round: Keon Coleman, Cooper DeJean among top options
Quarterbacks and offensive linemen came off the board in rapid succession in the first round of Thursday’s 2024 NFL Draft, leaving a lengthy list of best available talent at other positions entering the second and third rounds on Day 2. Littered with quality wideouts, edge rushers and linebackers, there’s still a ton of all-conference players who will soon be tasked with being plug-and-play starters as rookies.

All of this draft cycle’s highest-rated signal-callers were selected within the first 12 selections, including Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall to the Chicago Bears, Heisman winner Jayden Daniels to the Washington Commanders with the second pick and former Washington star Michael Penix Jr. surprisingly going to the Atlanta Falcons at No. 8. A number of future Hall of Famers have been selected on Day 2 in previous drafts as teams continue to expect difference-makers at all positions.

After enrolling at FSU following a stint at Michigan State, Keon Coleman made a significant impact for the Seminoles as a big-bodied, 6-foot-4 wideout. He led the ACC with 11 touchdown receptions, including a couple in FSU’s season-opening win over LSU, and finished with 50 receptions for 658 yards as a preferred target for Jordan Travis. Coleman moonlighted as the Seminoles’ lead return man on punts as well as a versatile playmaker.
