Duke Basketball is aggressively pursuing one of the top players from the Class of 2025
Cameron and Cayden Boozer, twin sons of former Duke star Carlos Boozer, are elite talents in the Class of 2025.
Although their two-time NBA All-Star father, Carlos Boozer, bleeds the uglier shade of blue, they are both being heavily recruited by North Carolina. In May 2023, each received offers to play for the UNC basketball program.
While the twin brothers are each of the nation’s top prospects, Cameron has stood taller amongst the competitive high school landscape and earned his spot as the No. 2 overall player in the Class of 2025. In a recent interview with Sam Lance of ZagsBlo, Cameron spoke highly of North Carolina and Head Coach Hubert Davis.
UNC: “It’s how hard they play, how great their defense is. Another school that’s one of the most winningest schools in college. Things like that. [Hubert Davis] is a great guy. He really gets his players to get after it, compete every night. That’s what made them so good this year. So that’s probably the main thing.”
Boozer listed the Tar Heels as one of the six schools in the nation that is recruiting him the hardest, along with Miami, Michigan, Arkansas, Florida, and his father’s alma mater, Duke.
The 6-foot-8 forward won a gold medal in the 2023 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, leading the team with 9.8 rebounds per game.
Neither brother has decided which college they will attend, leaving the possibility of Cameron and Cayden teaming up to attend the same university.
The UNC basketball program would love for that teaming up to occur in Chapel Hill, a move that would add another crazy element to the historic rivalry between Duke and North Carolina.
