Who Is the New York Jets Head Coach?

4 players likely playing their final game with NY Jets in Week 18

The NY Jets’ roster we see next season will likely be very similar to the roster they trotted out for most of the 2023 season. Sure, there will be some minor tweaks, but the Jets have already made it clear that they plan to run it back with a similar team next year.

That includes the same general manager, head coach, and coordinators, but it also includes most of the roster. The core of this Jets roster in 2024 should look almost identical to their core in 2023.

That said, there are a few players on the roster who likely won’t be here this time next year. Be it due to poor performance or a host of other reasons, the players on this list are likely set to play their final game with the Jets this coming Sunday.

Let’s take a look at four Jets players who will likely play their last game with the Jets in Week 18 this weekend.

4. Dalvin Cook, RB, NY Jets

When the Jets signed Dalvin Cook this past summer, the expectation was that he would help form arguably the most dynamic and talented running back duo in the NFL. While Breece Hall has certainly looked the part just one year removed from a torn ACL, the same can’t be said for his backfield mate.

Cook barely resembles the Pro Bowl talent he was during most of his time with the Minnesota Vikings, averaging an abysmal 3.2 yards per carry this season. His analytics were poor last season, but few could have predicted this level of regression.

With the Jets officially eliminated from playoff contention, it appears as though rookie Israel Abanikanda has taken over for Cook as the team’s second running back behind Hall.

Cook played just five snaps in Week 16 and did not see the field for the first time in his career this past Thursday. Sunday should be Cook’s final game with the Jets — if he even suits up.
