REPORT: Jacksonville Jaguars Announce Plans For Trevor Lawrence’s Status; Troubling Video Surfaces
The Jacksonville Jaguars announced how they would go about their pre-game evaluation of injured quarterback Trevor Lawrence this weekend. A video of Lawrence at practice Friday surfaced that wasn’t promising for his throwing skills on Sunday.
The Jaguars must defeat the Tennessee Titans to capture the AFC South division. A loss could send the Jaguars home before the playoffs.
Reports came out early Friday morning Lawrence would be questionable this week to play the Titans due to his shoulder and left finger injury. Lawrence missed the Jaguars’ Week 17 victories over the Carolina Panthers because of the shoulder injury.
Lawrence has played through multiple injuries this season. They need him to play through another if that’s possible. However, a shoulder injury on Lawrence’s throwing side could seriously affect his gameplay against the Titans.
The Jacksonville Jaguars provide an update on Lawrence
According to Henry Zimmer with Big Cat Country, head coach Doug Pederson said Friday that Lawrence said the Jaguars will determine around game time if their star quarterback’s body is healthy enough to play the Titans:
“Handled it great,” Pederson said of Lawrence on Friday. “It is day by day. (Friday) will be a big day for him. He is progressing good. (Friday) will be the first time seeing him throw harder than (Thursday) and the days before.”
“He has been plugged in and engaged all week. Now, it is just the physical part,” Pederson said.
At the end of the day, the choice is essentially up to Lawrence to relay what his body is telling him to the coaching staff.
“If he is good to go, he is good to go,” Pederson said.
