Leicester injuries, predicted XI for Arsenal amid Albrighton revelation
Steve Cooper gave his most recent Leicester City press conference on Thursday. The Welshman spoke of a plethora of matters and answered many media queries. Today we cover the most important such as Foxes injury news, if any exists. Not to mention covering the LCFC boss’s latest reaction to aggressive and unpleasant chanting.
What did Cooper say about the so-called supporter who attempted to get to him during the match at Walsall? And what is Foxes of Leicester’s predicted XI for the daunting Arsenal fixture on Saturday? Meanwhile we also take a quick look at some news whilst offering views about legendary Fox Marc Albrighton. The retired winger has made an interesting revelation concerning his move to Leicester – and what could have been.
Marc Albrighton almost joined Sunderland before signing for Leicester City
Albrighton had an absolutely glittering career at King Power Stadium. The trophy haul he made on Filbert Way was totally and utterly unprecedented and completely unforeseeable. Basically I’m saying that even the former LCFC star himself wouldn’t have imagined lifting some the trophies and having the experiences he did with Leicester. Not in a million years!
That is precisely why the Blue Army should cherish the era of Albrighton, Kasper Schmeichel and, of course, Jamie Vardy who is still remarkably leading the line. Obviously there are many, many other famous names who contributed to the success. Claudio Ranieri is one; even Brendan Rodgers helped us realise the FA Cup dream, to be fair.
Though Albrighton’s time has passed at City now. The Incredibles are in the glorious past. But we were actually just informed that the one-time Aston Villa widemen nearly didn’t go to Leicestershire. In fact, the 34-year-old was close to going to Sunderland in 2014.
Albrighton has now disclosed information regarding his failed switch to the North East. The Tamworth-born man made his Villans debut in the Premier League in 2009. Happily the East Midlands side managed to secure his signature when he left Villa Park on a free transfer five years later.
Steve Cooper’s presser
Thankfully LCFC have no new injury worries. Although centre back Jannik Vestergaard is unavailable for the Gunners game. So here is our expected XI:
Mads Hermansen; James Justin, Wout Faes, Caleb Okoli, Victor Kristiansen; Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp; Wilf Ndidi; Stephy Mavididi, Facundo Buonanotte; Jamie Vardy.
If you weren’t aware, the bulk of City’s away support turned on the ex-Nottingham Forest gaffer at Walsall. Chanting turned hostile and an ugly scene arose when an idiotic Leicester ‘fan’ tried to go through players to get to Cooper.
