Ozan Tufan to have medical soon to leave Hull City – Finances of deal revealed
Turkish side Trabzonspor have nearly completed a deal for Hull City midfielder Ozan Tufan, with a deal now signed between the two clubs.
That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who says the Hull City midfielder is in Trabzonspor to finalise his return to his homeland.
He reports that the deal will be worth €2m and that the midfielder is set to arrive in Istanbul soon to undergo a medical.
This is largely backed up by 61 Saat, who report that negotiations are underway to complete the deal and take Tufan back to Turkey.
They report that Tufan has already agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor and agreed to make the move, leading the Turkish side to work on finalising an agreement with Hull City.
This is further backed up by journalist Gökmen Şahin, who provided further details on the potential move and the negotiations between the various parties.
“Trabzonspor are officially meeting with Ozan Tufan,” he said.
“They have even reached an agreement; the contract period is three plus one year. From here, negotiations began between President Ertuğrul Doğan and Acun Ilıcalı (began).
“The first figures I heard speak of €4m, but we expect it to end at €2m or something around that.
“The player agreed to play for Trabzonspor. I had this confirmed by Hill City, the player, Acun Ilıcalı and the management. I had this news confirmed by 4 levels. I expect this transfer to have a happy ending. Abdullah Avcı also met with Ozan Tufan.”
So, to be clear, it appears that Trabzonspor managed to first strike and agreement with Tufan, whose contract with Hull expires next year, before then seeking talks with the Tigers from there.
Those talks are now well underway and a deal worth somewhere from €2m to €4m is now being finalised, with reporters in Turkey believing that it will be the former figure rather than the latter.
That would represent a loss for Hull given they paid €3m for the midfielder in 2022, so perhaps the two sides will meet somewhere in the middle instead. Either way, talks are underway and Tufan appears to be on his way out.
