Forgotten Leicester City man was denied transfer deadline day move
One Leicester City star was denied the chance to leave the club after being priced out of a move.
The Foxes weren’t overly busy in the transfer market on deadline, only signing one player in the form of Odsonne Edouard on loan.
Several youngsters headed out on loan and while Leicester City hoped for offers for one of their players surplus to requirements, nothing materialised.
It’s since been revealed that one of the players who wanted to seek an exit away from the King Power Stadium was priced out of a move.
Leicester City price wantaway star out of transfer away
According to Alan Nixon, the player in question was Daniel Iversen.
The 27-year-old has been reduced to a third-choice role in the squad and spent the second half of the 2023-2024 campaign out on loan at Stoke City.
Writing his Patreon column, Nixon revealed that a host of Championship clubs made an offer for the Danish shot-stopper, but the Foxes refused to budge on their hefty asking price.
He said: “Leicester City slapped a big price tag on keeper Daniel Iversen on deadline day – and cost him a move.
“Iversen had been available for £1.5m as his deal ran out and his first-team chances remain slim.
“However when the Foxes had an inquiry on the last day that value hiked up to £4m and that put off buyers.”

Leicester City will need to sell to buy in January transfer window
It’s early days to be considering what options Leicester should go for in January but one thing that is already apparent is that the Foxes will need to sell before they can buy.
Boubakary Soumare will be one of the heavy favourites to depart the King Power Stadium in the winter break.
There had been interest in the Frenchman but no serious offers came in, with his reported wage of £90,000-a-week proving to be a problem.
Steve Cooper may feel he needs to delve into the transfer market again to bolster the Foxes’ hopes of Premier League survival and even if getting rid of bits of deadwood like Iversen generates some extra funds, it’ll be better than none at all.
