3 Shocking Replacements For Amari Cooper If He Doesn’t Want To Play For The Cleveland Browns This Season

Cleveland Browns star wide receiver Amari Cooper has been a no-show to mandatory offseason workouts. He is holding out because his current contract is in its last year, and he wants a new deal. Reports are that the Browns are not willing to give Cooper a long-term deal since he is 30 years of age, and that is the time we see a lot of NFL players hit the wall in their careers, so if Cooper holds out for a long period the Browns are going to have to make some move at wide receiver and here are three moves they could make.

1. Hunter Renfrow

After spending five seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, Hunter Renfrow is a free agent. In 2021, he was named to his first and only Pro Bowl after recording over 1,038 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. The only issue is Renfrow has not been the same player since 2021, only recording 585 revising yards and two scores in 27 games since his Pro Bowl season.

The only reason the Browns would make this move is that Renfrow played college football at Clemson with quarterback Deshaun Watson. He could be a nice security blanket for Watson since they know how to play together well.

2. Brandon Aiyuk

The San Franciso 49ers have handled the Brandon Aiyuk situation very weirdly this offseason. Many reports and rumors had him being traded before the NFL Draft, and they never made the move, even after drafting wide receiver Ricky Pearsall in the first round.

Aiyuk is just like Amari Cooper, who is seeking a new contract. Since the 49ers don’t want to pay Aiyuk, a trade between the two teams could happen. They could take Cooper for the season and then let him walk, and the Browns could try to sign Aiyuk to a long-term deal.
