When were Leicester City last relegated from Premier League? Foxes' top-flight history and odds on drop | Sporting News

LCFC.com today confirmed the move of Daniel Iversen to Stoke, as we predicted the move to happen this week, after reports from Denmark confirming the interest from the Midland rivals.

Stoke will of course be delighted with the signing and Daniel Iversen is expected to be first choice for The Potters, with that of course important for the goalkeeper himself.

Enzo Maresca do have a strict and clear regime on what to demand from his players, and if one of the key skills are not to the standard, you will not be playing. “Footwork” is a key element for a goalkeeper in Enzo Maresca’s philosophy and accordingly not something Daniel Iversen is especially known for.

For another manager, not really bothering much about that at all, being fine with distribution from hand or by kicking the ball far and long, you have other skills regarded more important. Daniel Iversen do have great skills in most areas of goalkeeping and as a traditional player in that position, possibly a better alternative than Mads Hermansen, Danny Ward or Jacub Stolarczyk, so sadly he is gone.

Daniel Iversen will be on loan with The Potters to the end of the season. His start could not have been better with a possible challenge in the FA Cup vs. Brighton coming up on Saturday the 6th of January. This is a win win move for everyone.

Luke Thomas could be heading back to Leicester if Sheffield United can sort out their squad logistics over the next few days. Thomas (22) could be a blessing in disguise for Enzo Maresca as he is in search for a left footed defender alongside Callum Doyle as the other alternative. Playing a 3-4-3 at times, would surely could give Thomas a chance as a flank midfielder or as cover for Callum Doyle if his is not available. James Justin is doing the left back position with ease, but he is not left footed.

Thomas is also a player that could be considered for a new loan, if some club of interest will come forward. Leeds had their eyes on the England u.21 international in the summer, but instead a move to Sheffield United became the outfall. Thomas has been in and out of the team at Bramall Lane, being involved in 12 Premier League games so far. Sheffield United are stuck at the foot of the PL table, most certainly looking to go down, even with a manager change taken place and Chris Wilder back in the hot seat.
