Chelsea already know Julian Alvarez transfer reality as 'enquiry' made amid £140m Man City truth - Kieran Horn - football.london

West Ham United offer £50,000-a-week deal to the veteran as Sky Sports reveal details

West Ham United have offered Niclas Fullkrug a deal that would see him earn £48,000-a-week at the club, according to Sky Sports.

The report (2 August) indicates that West Ham are offering him almost the exact same salary as his current deal with Borussia Dortmund.

It comes in the midst of news that the club are close to agreeing a deal with the German forward (Mirror, 1 August).

We’ve seen all the work that Julen Lopetegui has been doing in recent days. That includes a move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in addition to the imminent signing of Crysencio Summerville. From the moment he stepped foot in the capital and became West Ham’s new boss, it’s been clear to see that he wants to make major changes.

It’s not like the Hammers have struggled in the last five years. If anything, they’ve been thriving in an unprecedented level. With that being said, it’s all about maintaining that momentum and building on it – and the way you do that is by hiring a coach who has experience of thriving at the elite level.

For Fullkrug, this gives him the chance to make a big push for Germany’s 2026 World Cup squad. At the age of 31, he seems to be hitting his prime, scoring 12 goals to go alongside eight assists in the Bundesliga last season (FBref).

There’s no guarantee that he’ll settle into life in the Premier League. Still, given what we know about his style of play, it’s a pretty good bet.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have started transfer “poker” as talks are underway for another new arrival.

Player ‘seriously thinking’ of joining West Ham – Hammers held ‘new talks’ on Thursday

Niclas Füllkrug happy to play the role of the creator at Borussia Dortmund

On Thursday, we covered claims from Germany which stated Borussia Dortmund have been ‘plunged into a dilemma’ after receiving a proposal from West Ham United for Niclas Füllkrug.

he striker starred in his debut season for the Bundesliga side, managing 15 goals and 10 assists from 43 games. He’ll face competition from summer signing Serhou Guirassy for a place in the starting lineup next season.

Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger says this is one of the reasons the 31-year-old is ‘seriously thinking’ about leaving BVB for West Ham.

The Hammers have offered him a deal until 2027, with an option for another year, while his contract at the German club lasts until 2026.
Füllkrug wants to feature regularly in order to represent Germany at the 2026 World Cup. The journalist claims he has held talks with the national team’s coaching staff over the possibility of moving to the London club.
He could be the first-choice striker under Julen Lopetegui at West Ham, which wouldn’t be the case at Dortmund after Guirassy’s arrival. According to Berger, the player was initially sceptical but ‘is now open’ to joining West Ham.

Another Sky journalist, Florian Plettenberg, says West Ham have held ‘new talks’ with BVB on Thursday evening. There’s a gap between the clubs as Dortmund want €30m, while West Ham aren’t willing to go beyond €25m ‘all-in’.

There’s ‘poker ongoing’ between the two clubs for Füllkrug and it’s now up to Dortmund to decide.

West Ham are looking at other options and Aston Villa’s Jhon Durán is the most concrete one.

Plettenberg says the Hammers have a verbal agreement with Durán, and it ‘won’t be an issue’ to agree a deal with Aston Villa.
