Liam Rosenior delivers brutal assessment of Hull City’s home loss to Swansea
The Tigers’ failed to win three in a row as consistency struggles continue
Liam Rosenior admitted his Hull City side were well below par and got exactly what they deserved in a 1-0 defeat to Swansea City.
Liam Cullen fired Swansea ahead after just 11 minutes and in truth, Rosenior’s men never looked like breaking down a solid and controlled rearguard, as the Tigers’ two-game winning run came to a shuddering halt at the MKM Stadium.
Ozan Tufan had City’s best chance in the contest when he headed straight at the Swans’ goalkeeper Karl Rushworth from six yards out unmarked, one of just three attempts on target in a game where the hosts lacked any threat, despite the plethora of attacking talent in their side.

“We didn’t deserve anything today,” Rosenior told Hull Live. “That’s one of the very few times since I’ve been here that I can say that honestly. I felt we were way off in terms of our levels, in terms of our energy, our pressing our ability to win second balls and duels and headers.
“And when you do that, you give the opposition momentum and especially when you concede from a set play and credit to Swansea because we gave them a leg up in the game and they managed to see the game out”
Tufan appeared to be blocked off in the corner which led to the opening goal, but Rosenior blamed poor defending rather than a decision which may have gone his way on another day.
“It depends how you see the game. From one point of view, yes, from another point of view, you can say it’s a well-worked set-piece. Actually from another point of view, if we mark the player properly, you don’t get blocked and that’s something that’s really frustrating because it’s all the things we work on in training.
