Hull City boss Liam Rosenior reveals key Leicester City weakness | OneFootball

Liam Rosenior makes critical Leicester City assessment ahead of Hull City’s big showdown

Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior has called on his team to grow up if they’re to reach the potential he feels his side are capable of in the final 10 games of the season.

Tuesday night’s draw with Birmingham City left Rosenior furious at the Tigers’ inability to turn dominance into goals and having led from the 25th minute courtesy of Ozan Tufan’s controversial goal, Rosenior’s men failed to kill the Blues off and were made to pay when Lukas Jutkiewicz stepped off the bench to head in the equaliser in the final 10 minutes.

City have now dropped 14 points from winning positions this season, and with games running out, he says his side must get to grips with their reality quickly, starting with the visit of league leaders Leicester City on Saturday.

We have to grow up,” a candid Rosenior told Hull Live. “We have to. We have to understand where we’re at. We play with fearlessness, some of the football that we play, the one-touch stuff is great, but it’s there to score goals. That’s why we do it. This is not blaming any individual, this is all on me. It’s my job to get this team to where I think it can be. But for us to realise our potential, we all have to take more accountability to get the points that our performances deserve.

“It’s a really weird feeling at the moment because I watched the game, I analysed it and I’d say 95 per cent of our performance was magnificent for this level. Magnificent. I’ve always been the first to tell you the truth, I thought some of our football, our control, our possession play, our interlinking, our combination play was top, but we didn’t finish it off. And that’s the bit that makes the difference in football is scoring goals and making sure that if you don’t score, you keep a clean sheet and we did neither.

“I love this group. They’re a great set of lads. Some of them are very young and I’ve said to them, now is the time. Time’s going to pass us by if we don’t learn this lesson and a lot of them spoke in a really positive way.

“This is an amazing interview because I’m so happy with so much, it’s a really strange feeling. I heard boos after the game. I understand the frustration of the crowd. I understand the frustration of the crowd because everyone wants the same thing.
