Dodgers Among Likeliest Threats to Sign Juan Soto From Yankees: Report

After a historic 2023-24 offseason in which the Los Angeles Dodgers spent $1.2 billion on two superstar players, they could be in line for another historic grab this upcoming offseason. According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Dodgers are most likely to sign New York Yankees superstar slugger Juan Soto.

“Dodgers: They’re always a threat, and don’t think their $1.4 billion winter spending spree means they are tapped out. They rarely pass up a chance to at least play for the biggest and best.”

Many would argue that the Dodgers have enough superstars on their roster and don’t need to add another. The Dodgers front office, which would have plenty to spend, would beg to differ.

The Dodgers will always be in the running for superstars. Time and time again, Los Angeles has proven that money is no issue, and with a shot to land a superstar like Soto, L.A. wouldn’t hesitate, nor should they.

Any of the 30 teams in the league would be lucky to have Soto on their roster. At such a young age, Soto has proven himself to be a superstar in the game and is on a Hall of Fame trajectory. At only 25 years old, he is a three-time All-Star, World Series champion, two-time All-MLB First-team, four-time Silver Slugger award winner, and an NL batting champion.

It’s uncertain how interested the Dodgers will be in Soto, but they’ve never been shy to express interest in a superstar player. The lefty slugger could be in line to sign one of the largest MLB contracts for a non-two-way player— if not the largest. The Yankees will do all they can to keep the superstar past 2024 but expect the Dodgers to be a threat.
