A year ago, the Minnesota Timberwolves were a play-in tournament team that lost in five games in the first round of the NBA playoffs to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets.
But this past season, they vaulted to third place in the Western Conference and upset the Nuggets in the second round of the playoffs to reach the Western Conference Finals for only the second time in franchise history.
They lost there in five games to the Dallas Mavericks, and Anthony Edwards told Vince Goodwill that he’s over that defeat right now, per Yahoo Sports.
As Minnesota made its way to the NBA’s final four, Edwards made it known that he is arriving as a true superstar.
When his team ripped apart the Nuggets in the second half of Game 7 at Denver, Edwards shot just 6-for-24, but he made his mark on the defensive end, as the Nuggets were held to just 37 points after intermission.
Edwards averaged 25.9 points and 5.1 assists per game in the regular season and raised those numbers to 27.6 points and 6.5 assists per game in 16 postseason contests this spring.
