If Macaulay Langstaff’s moves to Sunderland this month from Notts County, it could have positive consequences for one man struggling at the moment for the Stadium of Light.

The striker has been the standout player for County this season, following on from his incredible performances last season to help get his side promoted into the EFL.

He netted 42 times in 46 matches in an incredible season that saw him break the goal-scoring record at the Magpies, and has carried on his form in League Two this season.

He has excelled in the first half of the campaign so far, as Notts County have managed to keep themselves in the play off places. They currently six sixth in the table, with the 19 strikes from Langstaff a huge reason for their impressive season so far.

He is County’s top scorer this season, which has reportedly earned him interest from a number of clubs, including Sunderland in this January transfer window.

One player who could be on his way to Sunderland this January is Notts County’s Langstaff.

HITC have reported that Sunderland are one of a few clubs looking to sign the striker this season, with a transfer fee of £1.5 million rumoured to be enough to acquire his services.

The Black Cats have been in search of a striker in this transfer window, and the addition of Langstaff could prove a shrewd move from a lower division.

They have already been linked to strikers like Kieffer Moore and Divin Mubama, but County’s striker is a lower profile target from League Two, which could help keep the pressure off the 26-year-old.
