Pinto ‘determined’ to sign player for Bournemouth – Drop in price and club’s stance favour Cherries

Last weekend, we covered claims from Italy explaining that AFC Bournemouth’s interest in AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham could become concrete soon after they appointed Tiago Pinto as their president of football operations.

Pinto returns to management having left the Serie A side back in February, and he wants to raid his former club.

That’s according to Romaforever.it, who say the new Bournemouth chief wants to sign the 26-year-old in the summer window.

Roma’s plan to sell the former Chelsea man last summer for €40m was hindered after he suffered a serious knee injury, which forced him to miss most of the season, before returning to the pitch in April.

This has also reduced the striker’s price tag, ‘just over half’, likely of what the Italian club requested [€40m] last summer. It’s explained that Pinto wants Abraham but isn’t willing to offer €40m.

Roma director Florent Ghisolfi wants to resolve the England international’s future soon and is only looking for a permanent transfer, without an inclusion of any other player as part of the deal.

The Cherries official is ‘determined’ to sign Abraham. The drop in his valuation and Roma being willing to sell him favours Bournemouth, but the player’s stance on a possible move still needs to be determined.
