Crystal Ball pick for Ohio State to add key defensive player

My latest Crystal Ball pick is for the Buckeyes to add another top defensive player.

1)  The Buckeyes are already making a strong push to land a number of talented 2026 in-state prospects in what is a pretty good group of Ohioans.

The week of March 5, the Buckeyes held their first two spring practice sessions of 2024. After that, there was a week off for spring break at Ohio State. Classes resumed on Monday of this week and the Buckeyes held two more spring practice sessions, with another one on Saturday morning. Of course, during all of the spring practice sessions, there have been recruits visiting, and in some cases, some of the top recruits on the Ohio State board have been in Columbus this month.  Today I have what I am hearing after a number of these visits

The Ohio State women’s basketball team has had a full two weeks to stew over the disappointing end to its regular season.

Yes, the Buckeyes won the Big Ten regular season championship. But they dropped their final regular season game on the road at Iowa on March 3. Then, they went into the conference tournament as the No. 1 seed only to be summarily upset by No. 8 seed Maryland 82-61.

But Ohio State has a chance to write a much better ending to its overall season as it preps to host opening weekend action in the NCAA Tournament. OSU (25-5), installed as the No. 2 seed in the Regional 3 in Portland, will host No. 15 Maine (24-9) for a first-round game Friday at Value City Arena. ESPN will have national coverage at noon Eastern time.
