‘We’ve been amazing’ – Leicester City star sends message to Leeds United and title-chasing pack

Championship leaders Leicester City visit Elland Road to take on Leeds United this Friday looking to bounce back after Saturday’s disappointing home loss to Middlesbrough

Defeat to Middlesbrough will sharpen Leicester City’s players minds ahead of their trip to Leeds United. That is the belief of Foxes defender Wout Faes as the Championship leaders look to become the first team to win at Elland Road this season.

City slipped up at the weekend, losing 2-1 at home to Boro. Three points for United on Friday evening would put them just six points behind the Foxes in the promotion fight.

Faes has stressed City will approach the meeting with the Whites the same way they have every match. “It’s logic,” said the Belgian, who remained at Leicester following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

“You have a very big game and we are winning, winning, winning and then you lose one then you want to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

“But even if we won or drew, I think we would go with the same intensity, but now it makes it maybe 1% extra to get the result there and take the three points.”

Faes claims City have no intention of looking over their shoulders at the chasing pack in their quest to go up. “You look at it for sure, but I think we have to focus on ourselves,” he said.
